Dr. Susan Parker, DPT, MS
Clinical Expertise: Susan has 30 years of clinical experience in outpatient physical therapy. She specializes in manual therapy and has extensive continuing education training in soft tissue and joint mobilization as well as high thrust low amplitude manipulation. She has additional training in Vestibular Rehabilitation and balance disorders. Susan seeks to educate her patients about their dysfunction and the tools necessary for improving their function.
Susan has been an avid member of the APTA since 1986 including membership in the Private Practice and Orthopedic Sections. She is an APTA certified clinical instructor working with many New England schools in providing internships for physical therapy students.
When Susan is not working at Excel, she enjoys spending time with family, photography, and cooking.
Dr. Judith M. Ricci, DPT, MS
Clinical Expertise: She has over 30 years of clinical experience in outpatient physical therapy. She has done advanced course work in the areas of sports medicine, and has enjoyed working with both professional and recreational athletes across Massachusetts and RI. She has a special interest in developing sport specific training programs for high school athletes and is currently involved working with local athletes in baseball, Lacrosse, and a local swim team.
She is a clinical instructor for students attending the University of RI, CCRI, as well as the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She has advanced training in manual therapy, spinal mobilization and spinal rehabilitation. She has done extensive work in treating patients with various problems associated with their cervical, lumbar spine and pelvis. She is also proficient in the development of individualized core stabilization programs that can be injury specific or sport specific.
Titleist Certified Golf Fitness Instructor: She is certified to screen and develop the most advanced golf specific exercise programs currently being used by pro tour athletes. She evaluates and then instructs golfers on how to maximize their game through fitness.
She has been the co-owner of Excel Physical Therapy with her life long friend and colleague Susan A. Parker since 1999. She is an avid runner who enjoys all recreational sports as well as cycling, golfing, swimming, weight training, and yoga.
Patrick Lachut, MPT
Clinical Expertise: His clinical experience has been complemented by numerous continuing education courses in manual therapy and joint mobilizations allowing him to competently treat orthodpedic conditions. He has additional education in vestibular disorders and balance conditions.
Patrick enjoys community service, travel, golf, skiing, and spending time with family and friends.
Mario Santomassimo, PT, MS, OCS, CSCS
Clinical Expertise: Over his 28 years of outpatient physical therapy practice, Mario has developed advanced clinical knowledge and skills. He has demonstrated his competency in this area by receiving his Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists in 1998 and recertification in 2008. His skills are further enhanced through extensive manual therapy training. Mario has successfully completed a variety of manual therapy coursework, most recently including the Graston Technique training course.
Mario also has diverse experience and interest in the evaluation and treatment of athletes of all ages and experience levels. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) whose primary goal is to improve athletic performance through the design and implementation of safe and effective conditioning programs. He accomplishes this through pre/post op rehabilitation, education and treatment of various acute and chronic athletic injuries, between community involvement and student/athlete education.
Mario is also an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT). He is a Clinical Instructor who works with a variety of students to develop a strong knowledge base to become successful future clinicians.
On his time off from work, Mario is an active husband and father who enjoys having fun with his family and friends. He also enjoys biking, basketball, and working out.
Dr. Edward McCormick, BS, DPT
Ed is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and has an interest in treating an array of orthopedic issues using manual therapy technique. He especially enjoys rehabilitating, educating, strengthening and conditioning athletes of all ages. His primary focus is working with young athletes on and off the field.
Outside of physical therapy, Ed enjoys keeping active and being in the company of his family and friends. His interests include, running, hiking, hockey and golf.
Chelsea Tetreault, DPT
Clinical Expertise:Chelsea specializes in treating an array of orthopedic injuries and has a particular interest in working with athletes of all ages/skill levels on injury prevention programs. She is certified to perform Integrative Dry Needling to treat neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions that cause pain and human movement dysfunction.
Chelsea was an athlete her whole life, excelling in track and field and gymnastics. She went on to hurdle for the University of Vermont Track and Field team. In her spare time she enjoys having fun with friends, family, and keeping up an active lifestyle: running, snowboarding, hiking, and sailing.
Molly C. Douglass, PT, DPT, OCS
Clinical Expertise:Molly obtained her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists in 2015. She has enhanced her knowledge base by attending continuing education courses hosted by the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine (IAOM) and concussion rehabilitation courses. She specializes in post concussion management and rehabilitation of crossfitters and athletes of all ages.
Outside of work, you can find Molly enjoying the outdoors. She loves to hike, camp and ski. She is a member of Full Range Crossfit in Providence.
Laurie Connors, PTA, LMT
Clinical Expertise: She has extensive experience in outpatient settings, working closely with Physical Therapists treating various musculoskeletal dysfunctions caused by sports or overuse injuries, motor vehicle and work related accidents and surgeries. Patient care has also included rehabilitating people who are dealing with decreased strength, balance, and coordination caused by Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis and strokes.
Laurie is a licensed Massage Therapist and has been practicing for 15 years. She specializes in deep tissue massage, sports massage and prenatal massage. She is also an active member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
As a PTA and LMT Laurie is required to participate in continuing education courses each year. These have included: Muscle Energy and Craniosacral techniques, Therapeutic yoga and core stability training, myofascial release and joint mobilization.
Laurie is an avid runner and golfer. She enjoys yoga and plays competitive volleyball. She also teaches core and flexibility classes weekly.
Mark Langlois, PTA
He is an avid sports fan with extensive knowledge in sports including football, basketball, baseball, and hockey. He specializes in the treatment of throwing injuries.
He enjoys running and plays softball competitively.
Britany M. Gonsalves, PTA
Clinical Expertise: She loves working with people and she strives to provide a positive and meaningful experience with each patient. Britany enjoys providing a wide range of treatments including orthopedics and geriatric therapy.
Britany, originally from Warren, RI, enjoys spending quality time with her husband, dog, friends and family. She also enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, camping and hiking.
